Celebrating The WES

Recently we got to celebrate the power of our community with the official opening of The WES, also known as our Mental Health Cafe project.

Delivered in partnership with Lifeline Gippsland, The WES was developed for our community by our community, and is informed by a dedicated lived experience advisory group.

The WES is a warm, non-clinical environment where anybody 16 years and over can drop in for mental health and emotional support outside of standard business hours — the first of it’s kind in Gippsland. No referral is needed to access The WES and it’s completely free, including transport that can be arranged to and from the space from anywhere in Latrobe City.

We would like to thank Latrobe City Council Mayor Kellie O’Callaghan for speaking today and for her staunch ongoing support for the space, as well as members of the lived experience advisory group who shared with us why The WES is important to them and so many others.

Head here for more about The WES, including business hours and to organise transport.
