Better coordination of pre-existing service providers may improve the access to services available to families in Latrobe and reduce wait times to access services if providers have a better understanding of other provider’s services. Identification of any gaps will demonstrate a need and allow for potential new services and programs to be established. Both of these factors will increase access to early childhood literacy programs for families and children in Latrobe City with the aim of improving early childhood literacy and numeracy skills.
The 2019 Early Childhood Education Literacy Forum was a highly successful with high participation rates. The participants were highly engaged and the outcomes from the forum will inform future projects within this space not only for the Latrobe Health Assembly but also other organisations seeking to make a difference within the childhood literacy space.
